Direct2Net Expands Internet Distribution and Reporting Statistics:Since we launched our Direct2Net Internet wire service in January, HR Marketer members have been able to distribute their press releases to the Internet, guaranteeing placement on Google, Yahoo!, and other Internet news portals and search engines. But now Direct2Net is so much more! We recently announced two important enhancements to HR Marketer's Direct2Net Internet wire service – expanded distribution and expanded reporting statistics. Expanded distribution means that members who use Direct2Net will now benefit from expanded distribution through Yahoo! News. Press releases sent via Direct2Net have always been posted to the main Yahoo! search engine. However, our new relationship with Yahoo! News means members can expect on average to receive an additional 10,000 to 20,000 Reads (or views) per press release. This is because so many other news portals, search engines, websites, and eNewsletters pull from (syndicate) Yahoo! News releases, which is separate from the Yahoo! search engine – not to mention the hundreds of thousands of people who get their news "alerts" from Yahoo!'s popular news alert service. Members also now have access to expanded reporting statistics detailing how often their press releases were viewed, what search engines and countries the views came from, and the most popular keywords people used to locate their releases on the Internet – which can help them write more targeted press releases optimized for search engines. The following statistics are now being reported via HR Marketer's Direct2Net Internet wire service: 1. Reads: This number tells how many times a press release was accessed (i.e., someone sees the release headline on Google and clicks the story to view the entire release). 2. Pick-up: This number estimates the number of times a press release was picked up by a media outlet. This does not tell how many times a story appears in the media. It simply represents an enhanced interest in a story by a media outlet. 3. Forwards: This is the number of times that someone has forwarded a press release to a third party using our "forwarding" tool. It does not track the number of people who forward the story via their own email software. 4. Printed: This is the number of times that someone has printed out a press release. We measure this by the number of times that the "printer friendly version" link is pressed. In reality, only a small percentage of users actually click this link before printing a release. 5. Countries: This tells which countries people reside in who viewed a release. 6. Hot Terms: This tells the top keywords people used to locate a press release via the Internet search engines and news portals. 7. Search Engines: This tells the top search engines people used to locate a release. These enhancements to our Internet wire service put HR Marketer on par with any other major press release distribution service. In fact, HR Marketer is even better because we also allow our members to send unlimited press releases to the largest and most targeted list of HR and workforce journalists anywhere. Each new and renewed HR Marketer membership will continue to receive a block of free Internet distributions (the fair market value is nearly $1,000) with the option of purchasing more.
